Award-winning Manipuri director Lakshmipriya Devi on her journey from assisting Rajkumar Hirani to BAFTA.
Lakshmipriya Devi always wanted to tell stories, but chose never to direct one if the story did not come from within. That story organically emerged while she was seeking closure to a childhood memory. She is an alumna of India's prestigious film schools and a graduate in Economics, and worked as an assistant director on Rajkumar Hirani's PK (2014). Boong (2024) is her feature debut, which has been selected for TIFF 2024.
Shinjana Chakraborty is a film journalist based in Copenhagen. She was previously an editor at Empire, Smithsonian and Popular Cinema.
